A personal essay exploring our relationship with technology, distraction, and the difficulty of being truly present.
What begins as an observation about people using their phones during dinner becomes a deeper reflection on how we use distraction to avoid uncomfortable emotions, boredom, loneliness, and self-awareness. The piece follows my own experience of breaking that pattern and learning to become more present in everyday moments.
This work demonstrates my ability to combine personal storytelling, observation, vulnerability, and reflection to create relatable long-form content with a clear narrative and takeaway.
