CAPCUT BROADCAST NETWORK (CBN)
Main Direction: Direction C — CapCut in a Different Era
CapCut Broadcast Network (CBN) explores an alternate history in which CapCut was launched as a television broadcaster in the 80s.
The project reimagines CapCut's identity through the visual language of 1980s television culture, including broadcast studios, control rooms, CRT displays, VHS/video tapes archives, television guide magazines, motion graphics, field reporting vehicles, and network branding systems.
Rather than focusing on retro-futurism, the project emphasizes historical authenticity. Every element was designed to feel like a real television network operating during the mid-80s while preserving the creative spirit that defines CapCut today.
The concept asks a simple question:
What if CapCut had been the creative network of the television era?
The resulting world presents CapCut as a broadcaster through which ideas, creators, and stories go live on television rather than on social media.
