The fastest way to look cheap is to compete on being the cheapest.
The moment price becomes your main argument, you've told the market you have nothing else.
It feels like the safe move. Undercut the competition, win on affordability, get the deal. But cheap is a race, and the only prize for winning is thinner margins and worse clients.
Here's the trap. When you compete on price, you attract people who only care about price. They don't value your work. They question every invoice, negotiate every line, and leave the second someone cheaper shows up. You didn't win a client. You rented one.
And there's always someone cheaper. There's always someone willing to do it for less, do it worse, and burn out doing it. That's a game you don't want to win.
Premium works differently. It doesn't ask "how little can I charge?" It asks "what is this actually worth to the business?" A website that adds real revenue isn't a cost to minimize. It's an investment with a return. Price it like one.
The clients worth having don't want the cheapest option. They want the right one. They're paying for the outcome, the certainty, and the fact that it gets done properly the first time.
Cheap competes on price because it has nothing else to offer.
Premium competes on results, and lets the price take care of itself.
Charge for the value. Not the hours.

Exactly. One nuance: “premium” only works when the page makes the value boundary concrete. I look for three things: who the higher-priced option is for, which costly constraint it removes, and proof that the outcome is real. Without those, a higher price is just a claim; with them, price becomes a positioning signal.

That's right!
