MAKE DNA — Visual Prompt Genetics Lab
Tagline - Turning prompt anxiety into confident, shareable prompt genomes.
Project Summary MAKE DNA is a visual prompt genetics lab for designers who work with AI but keep running into the same problem: prompts feel random, outputs are unpredictable, and there’s no reliable way to understand why something worked or share that success with others. I built this project to turn that frustrating guessing game into a more structured, visual, and reusable system.
In MAKE DNA, prompts are built from modular “genes” such as App Type, Visual Style, Color Mood, Interaction, Layout, and Output Format. As each gene changes, the live prompt updates in real time, and mutation comparisons show exactly how one shift affects the result. When a combination feels strong, it can be pinned as a collectible DNA card and added to the public Genome Wall, where others can discover it, remix it, and build on it.
The experience is designed to move users from I’m just guessing to I have a trusted genome I can share and evolve. It makes prompting feel less like trial and error and more like a creative system you can actually trust. I started with Figma Make to generate the core interactive prototype and mutation logic from style references. Then I used Agent to refine layout, spacing, and overall polish. Weave helped generate the DNA-inspired visuals and textures, while Figma Prototype brought the interactions to life - gene selection, live mutations, pinning, and remixing. I also created the technical spec using MCP with Figma and Codex. MAKE DNA solves a daily pain point for designers working with AI: confusion, wasted time, and isolated prompt knowledge. It creates emotional relief by turning uncertainty into confidence, and it adds a community layer by transforming individual prompting into collective craft.
More than a prototype - it’s a new way of thinking about prompt design as modular, visual, and shareable.
Tools Used Figma Make, Agent(Beta), Figma Weave, MCP - codex
