Cartographer: Group Planning, Mapped Fairly
Cartographer is a group planning app designed to make choosing a meetup spot easier, fairer, and way less chaotic. I created it for the #configmakeathon
Instead of letting the group chat spiral with “I’m fine with anything,” “that’s too far,” or “where should we go?”, Cartographer turns the planning process into a shared map. One person creates a plan, invites their crew, and each member adds their starting location, transportation method, max travel time, budget, and preferences. From there, Cartographer helps uncover meetup spots that work best for the whole group.
Key features include:
Shared Map Links – Create a plan and invite others with a simple shareable link.
Crew Manifest – View everyone who has joined the map, including their travel method, budget, and preferences.
Transportation-Aware Planning – Cartographer considers whether someone is walking, driving, or using transit.
Fair Recommendation Scoring – Suggested spots are ranked based on how well they work for the group overall.
Preference Filters – Members can note parking needs, transit friendliness, outdoor preferences, accessibility needs, dietary notes, and hard no’s.
Crew Chat / Message Scroll – Groups can keep the planning conversation inside the map.
Save Map by Email – Users can save and return to their map later.
Treasure Map Theme – The app uses parchment styling, wax seals, route language, and “X marks the spot” visuals to make planning feel more fun and memorable.
Cartographer was built with a React/Figma Make frontend and a Supabase Edge Functions backend. The app uses a playful old-map interface, but the core goal is practical: help groups make plans without one person carrying all the coordination or one member always getting stuck with the longest drive.
In short, Cartographer helps groups find the fairest place to meet before the group chat spirals.

Creators today manage their work across multiple tools — spreadsheets for brand deals, calendars for content planning, notes for ideas, emails for sponsorships, and separate platforms for analytics. As creators grow, managing collaborations, deliverables, invoices, and payments becomes increasingly complex and time-consuming.
There are great tools for scheduling content and viewing analytics, but very few solutions that help creators manage the entire business side of content creation.

My inspiration comes from being a desktop user primarily. I rarely have time to access my phone and that eventually rendered my body inflexible and terrible joint and nerve pain. I find that sometimes even setting an alarm on my phone made me also not want to stretch when I need to. It got to the point where I had to see multiple PTs over time and every time I finished treatment I would come back to the same pain points.
I talked to friends about it and they also had the same pain points from being a desktop main user, so I decided to make this project.
In terms of design, I find that a lot of stretching apps on even mobile aren't fun to look at or make me want to use it. In the design stage I tried to go for a fun and cutesy look with yellow as theme to feel energizing to use as I also struggle to use other stretching apps due to not how fun it looks and also doesn't have a built in repeating alarm. Also I really like tamagotchi and that nostalgic look so it has been designed with that in mind.
My final design includes a few stretches that my PTs and doctor has shown me and some extra that I found online as an example and worked on it all in Figma Make. The exercises are animated when going through the stretch session and you can set a repeating timer and save the session to your email.
As of making the app till now, I have used to do my daily stretches and it has been helping. Would appreciate anyone looking and trying this out! I hope I can continue working on it to include more stretches in the future ~
