The Webflow CMS structure decision that comes back to haunt every project that gets it wrong. Most people set up CMS collections based on what content exists today. That's the wrong starting point. The right question: what will this content look like in 18 months? Five team members becomes twelve. Three case studies becomes twenty. One blog category becomes eight. If you didn't build for scale, every addition becomes a manual rebuild. What I do on every project: Build reference fields from day one even if they're empty. A team member field on a case study. A category field on a blog post. A related services field on everything. Name fields for what they do, not what they are. "Author name" → "Byline." "Service tag" → "Filter label." Future you will understand it. The CMS is the hardest thing to change after launch. Get it right at the start. What's the CMS structure mistake you've made that you won't make again?
