I think I just reached my first 1K+ impressions post on Contra. It took almost 2 months to reach that.

It has been interesting watching how posts perform on Contra. Not too different from other platforms, but there are some unique aspects about what does well here. Those aspects being some solid interest in the "build in public" related posts and the partnership and community building during changes in industries, especially with AI.

Contra posts are really work and visually heavy driven (with audio really creeping up). Not too many "random" thoughts and life moments do well unless they really tie back to the poster's established thought/community and/or scope of work. Specific niches are the true heavy hitters, mainly the various designers. The visually stunning and the innovative are in the top tier.

I first joined Contra right as the flood gates opened with the community platform being re-released to all Contra users. So many posts were doing well because everyone was active, posting, and engaging. Now that the novelty has worn off, the work is the focus. The posts that have been doing well for me recently has been my submissions to contests, which was not a surprise. I knew it would be the case as the submissions come with a community of other participants, and a micro project to dice into wip, building in public, workflow, and demo posts.

Something I will be working on is to see if I can get my project/work related posts to get to 1k impressions in less time than 2 months. It will interesting as my main work is adjacent to the niches that dominant this platform, so we will see how my future projects do.
