Honestly I think working with friends only becomes risky when communication gets avoided because of the friendship itself. Clear expectations, boundaries, and mutual respect change everything.
Some of the best collaborations happen when trust already exists before the work even starts.
Contra Labs is one of the most interesting things to happen in the freelance space recently.
I got early access and helped the team with a few tests and design reviews. Very intrigued with where this is heading.
I don't know what the future of creative work looks like with AI in the room, nobody does. But Contra Labs is going to have a real hand in shaping it and I'm glad they're the ones asking the questions.

I’m bored of seeing trendy cookie-cutter work, AI futurism, and linkedin-voice hyper-corporate slop posts that make me want to pull out my hair. I need to reset my algorithm.
I want to see the weird, cool, funky, personal work. I want to connect with the artists, creatives, and small business owners who believe that the creative act is inherently, fundamentally, human. I want to get to know the designers and developers collaborating with local mom & pops, artists residencies, and creative entrepreneurs. I want to get in touch with the eccentric solopreneurs, the creative cooperative members, the people devoted to hand-made and human-made work and a solar-punk future.
