I'm starting to feel burned out by the constant rejections on Contra. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
Even when I did land projects, I often had to chase clients just to get them to sign the contract or make the payment. It feels like I'm doing the platform's job instead of focusing on the work.
I'm beginning to wonder if Contra simply isn't the right platform—or attracting the right clients—for someone in my role.
I'm giving both myself and Contra until the end of the year. If things don't improve, it may be time to move on.
I'd genuinely love to hear about other people's experiences.

A month and a half ago, on June 5, I got serious about Contra. And now there are a hundred of us.
A bit of context. I've got 3+ years on Upwork behind me: $70K earned, Top Rated Plus, 100% Job Success. But over the last six months something broke. Fewer invites, shrinking budgets, client expectations through the roof, and the platform's fees just keep climbing. The strange part — I was doing exactly what I'd always done. It wasn't me. A lot of people are saying the same thing right now: Upwork isn't what it used to be.
At some point I just decided to stop knocking on a closed door and try something new. That's how I ended up here.
And yeah, I'm starting from zero again. Zero followers, zero reviews, building it all back up. A little scary, honestly.
But in these six weeks:
✅ earned my first $1,000 on Contra
✅ got the Jitter Expert badge
✅ and my last post pulled 1.5K views and 3 Goats 🐐
So a 100 isn't just a number. It's a sign the new path works. Thank you to everyone who's been here from the start 💛

After 5+ years of freelancing on Fiverr and working remotely with US and Canadian companies, I'm starting a new chapter here on Contra.
Recently, I decided to leave one of my remote roles. It reminded me that a good work environment matters just as much as the paycheck. Clear communication, mutual respect, and feeling comfortable with your team make all the difference.
I'm new to Contra, so I don't know where this journey will lead, but I'm excited to connect with great people, collaborate on meaningful projects, and keep growing as a graphic designer.
