I used to think the build was the job. Ship the agent, hand over the keys, send the invoice.
Then I was up at 2am with a client's phone line down & no way to tell how long it had been down. It cost me a night & a lot of trust.
Here is the part I had wrong. The thing that kills an agent is not a clunky conversation. It is an agent that tells a caller it booked them when the write actually failed. The transcript reads perfectly. The calendar is empty. Nobody finds out for a week, & by then it is six people who never got a confirmation.
So now every write fails closed. If the database does not confirm, the agent does not claim it did. & a truth audit runs behind it, diffing what the system believes it did against what is actually in the tables.
None of that is impressive in a demo. It is the only reason I sleep.
