Hi all. I’m Matt. Nice to meet you. I’m an American writer and editor with 30 years of teaching experience, extensive international experience, and a particular specialty in academic and professional English. I’ve worked with students, teachers, professionals, and organizations in a wide range of international settings, including work with the International Baccalaureate.

I’m particularly good at taking writing that is technically understandable but awkward, overly formal, disorganized, or obviously written by a non-native speaker and turning it into clear, natural English without stripping away the writer’s personality. I also work on website copy, biographies, essays, articles, newsletters, interviews, memoir, and long-form nonfiction.

If you have a pile of notes, a rough draft, or something you know should be good but isn’t quite there yet, that’s exactly the kind of thing I like working on
