The Fundamental AI launch was happening. Designs were still changing less than a week before go-live. A $1.4B company was coming out of stealth mode, covered simultaneously by AWS and Axios.
My decision concerned managing information flow. I could have just built what came in, delivered it, and finished. The client would have seen progress when it was complete.
Instead, I gave them updates on every small step. This included progress on layouts, components, and minor CSS adjustments. This meant more communication for me, but every stakeholder saw the project evolve in real-time.
That transparency created a feedback loop. They could flag issues early, before problems arose. It also built trust, quickly. They needed someone reliable who kept them informed.
The project launched with no issues. Clear, consistent communication yields this outcome on a high-stakes project.
