Most startup founders come to me with the same problem. 🤫
Not "we need better animation."
"We made an explainer video. It didn't work."
And when I ask to see it — beautiful animations. Lovely color palettes. Smooth transitions.
Zero clarity on who they were talking to. 🤷
Here's what went wrong before I even opened After Effects.
Someone in a meeting said "we need a video that explains what we do" and suddenly everyone's debating length, style, 2D vs 3D — before anyone asked the only question that actually matters.
Who is watching this. And what do they need to feel. 🎯
The explainers that actually convert have one thing in common. Brutally specific about one person's pain. Not features. Not founder vision. The moment a stranger watches the first 10 seconds and thinks —
that's exactly my problem. 😮
The best ones work outside in. Lead with the pain. Make it uncomfortable. Then walk in with the solution. 💡
Because motion can only amplify what's already there. Give me a weak message and I'll give you a weak animation that looks expensive. 💸

Visualing appealing
This was an amazing, though, very difficult project. Anthem films are some of my favorite things to make. The challenge: make a chainsaw blade company heartfelt, authentic and interesting. It took a lot of editing and a lot hard shoots in the middle of the back woods (those drone shots we're not easy as flying through massive trees aren't easy :).
Woo! Incredible shots to work with and you did it great. That's definitely a hard job and you killed it. What a cool project to work on
