A client sent me a 300-hour development estimate and asked if it looked reasonable. I read it line by line against the Figma designs and the backend spec.
About 155 hours of it was UI work — screens that were well-defined, backend already written, no security logic involved. That work didn't need to go to the senior Polish team at £60/hour. I restructured the split, same scope, same quality standards on the parts that actually mattered.
The saving was around £6,000. The client went into the vendor negotiation knowing exactly what he was buying and why.
