Three years ago, we built a service provider booking app (plumbers, carpenters, electricians) from scratch, fully custom code. Took close to 4 months to get live.
Today, with AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT in the workflow, I think a comparable MVP could realistically ship in 4-6 weeks. The boilerplate and repetitive work compress fast, matching logic and payment edge cases still need real engineering judgment.
If you had to rebuild something similar today, what timeline would you expect?
Four to six weeks feels realistic for a focused MVP now. The acceleration is real, but matching rules and payment edge cases are still where the product needs careful engineering.
Shankh (Ritual Conch)
Title: The Last Call – 2141
I wanted to reinterpret this ornate ritual conch shell trumpet as an object that no longer needs human breath.
In its original context, the shankh was blown during sacred ceremonies to cut through illusion and announce the presence of the divine. I imagined it in 2141 as something that activates on its own. Faint luminous veins now run through the gilt surface, and the shell emits a low inner light when it senses falsehood in the world around it.
Being part of this challenge with the FLORA and Contra community made me think differently about sacred objects not just as artifacts from the past, but as things that could still have a role in the future.

Building one app for Android + iOS — A or B?

If the product needs high performance, smooth animations, native capabilities and long-term scalability, which approach would you choose?

The signal is usually in the first spec. Count the features that touch the OS versus the ones that touch the network. Past three or four OS-level features, the cross-platform-with-a-few-channels plan has quietly become two native apps with a Dart layer on top, and the maintenance cost follows.
