Remote work has crossed borders, but employee benefits have not.
Tethered Outpost is a stablecoin-powered benefits platform designed for distributed teams. It helps companies fund category-based benefit wallets for remote employees, who can then redeem those benefits with verified local providers in their own countries.
The project follows Amara, a remote software engineer in Lagos, as she receives an employer-funded Health benefit, discovers a verified local clinic, and unlocks a full health screening without paying out of pocket.
Behind the scenes, stablecoins act as the invisible payment rail: the employer funds normally, value moves efficiently across borders, and the provider receives local currency. The employee does not need to understand crypto. The provider does not need to accept crypto. The experience simply works locally.
For the Config Makeathon, I used Figma Make to build the interactive product experience, Figma Design to structure the interface and product system, and Figma Weave to create the brand visuals, motion assets, and campaign direction.
The walkthrough clip attached to this post was created using a combination of Figma Weave-generated motion assets and screen recordings from the published site.
The framing around Amara's story is a smart way to make the problem concrete. Using stablecoins as an invisible rail so neither side has to think about crypto is a solid design decision, takes the friction out without requiring either party to trust the underlying tech.
More visuals from the rejected brand direction I shared earlier.
Really good to see this direction resonating with so many of you. It was one of our favourite explorations to build, from the narrative behind it to the visual world that brought it to life.
Great work doesn’t always make the final cut, and sometimes the reason has little to do with the quality of the direction.
Curious why this one was rejected? I’ve shared the story in the first comment✨
onebyzero, a London production house helping international brands shoot and produce in the UK. Built the Framer site in collaboration with bilal.agency, including a reusable CMS for their case studies, a custom hero animation, and a full brand rename handled mid-build without missing the deadline.
