Before choosing the right words, you have to understand the person reading them.
This is what I meant when I say "AI can't fix bad UX."
A client once came to us with a simple request.
"Can we add AI to make the app feel smarter?"
It sounded exciting. Because everyone thinks that this days.
But before discussing AI, we spent a day using the app ourselves.
Within minutes, we found the real problem nobody expected.
Homepage Crowded.The main button didn't stand out. The onboarding asked too many questions.
Even simple tasks took more effort than they should. The app didn't need more intelligence.
It needed more CLARITY.
So instead of adding an AI feature, we focused on simplifying the experience. We removed a few unnecessary screens. Reorganized the navigation. Rewrote confusing labels. Made the primary action obvious.
And When the updated version went live, users completed tasks faster, support requests dropped, and engagement improved.
Funny enough...The Twist....
Nobody asked, "WHERE IS THE AI?"
That project reminded me of something I think we forget in today's AI race.
AI can make a product more powerful. But it can't make a confusing product easy to use.
If people are already struggling to find a button, understand a screen, or complete a simple task, adding AI won't solve the problem.
Sometimes the biggest improvement isn't building something new.
It's making what's already there feel effortless.
Before asking, "Where can we add AI?" maybe the better question is, "What's confusing our users today?"
