AthletiX Hub — Conversational AI E-Commerce Platform
Built a full-stack fitness supplement e-commerce platform with an integrated conversational AI shopping assistant.
AthletiX Hub combines a Flask backend, MySQL database, responsive web interface, and Dialogflow-powered chatbot to create a conversational shopping experience. Users can browse products and interact with the AI assistant using natural language to add or remove supplements, complete orders, calculate totals, generate order IDs, and track existing orders.
I developed the backend business logic, database integration, conversational workflow, session-based order management, webhook handling, and interactive frontend components.
The project demonstrates how conversational AI can be integrated directly into real e-commerce workflows rather than being limited to simple question-answering.:

Django + DRF for the LMS core, a separate FastAPI service for all AI work (Gemini + a pgvector RAG pipeline), Next.js 14 on the front. Django brokers every AI call — the AI layer never touches the browser.
The hard part wasn't the AI. It was making multi-tenancy boring enough that no future dev can leak a school's data by accident.

The tenant boundary is where I'd put the first failure test. I'd try to make a user from one school retrieve another school's record before I trusted any of the AI features.
One of the projects that shaped the type of work I enjoy building today.
Back in 2017, I had the opportunity to help develop this interactive editorial experience for CNN on the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi. That was my first project with CNN.
Rather than presenting the story as a traditional article, we used animation, scrolling, photography and video to guide readers through the architecture, engineering and vision behind the museum.
It's this blend of storytelling, design and development that made me realise how powerful the web can be when interaction becomes part of the narrative.
It's also the kind of work I still love creating today, whether for publishers, agencies or brands looking to tell a story in a more engaging way.
