🔐 Authentication is not just a login screen.
In mobile apps, auth often becomes one of the messiest parts of the product because it touches almost everything:
• onboarding
• email verification
• password reset
• social login
• session refresh
• token expiration
• biometrics
• permissions
• deep links
• account deletion
The mistake is treating authentication like a one-time setup task.
For React Native apps, I prefer to think about the full session lifecycle from the start: what happens when the token expires, the app returns from background, the user changes devices, or a request fails halfway through.
A clean auth flow makes the whole product feel more reliable.
Good authentication is invisible when it works — and graceful when it doesn’t. 🔑

UTARA
A music platform for independent Indonesian artists. An artist uploads a release, it goes live on the platform, and listeners find it through artist pages and the catalogue. Payments run through Duitku, and the whole thing runs on the edge, so catalogue pages stay fast without a server to babysit.
What I built
Artist and listener accounts, with an upload flow that takes a release from draft to published.
Artist pages and a browsable catalogue, built for slow connections first.

A Hono API over D1 on Cloudflare Workers, with a Next.js front end on the same edge runtime.
