Lost in the Future
What if an old Egyptian woman from 1890 got to see our modern world?
The Concept:
This piece imagines a woman stepping out of her own time and into ours — confronting a world she could never have envisioned. It's an exploration of how drastically things change over time, and a quiet question: what would it feel like for us to glimpse our own future, the way she glimpses hers?
The Process:
-Building her world — I started by imagining what Egypt looked like in 1890, reconstructing the details of her original time and place.
-The contrast — I then looked at Egypt today, a landscape transformed almost beyond recognition.
-The collision — Placing her in that gap between past and present is where the piece comes alive — a woman lost in a future that isn't hers.
