Social media listening gets talked about almost exclusively as a marketing tool. Brand sentiment, share of voice, campaign performance. And yes, it does all of that. But one of the most underutilized applications for a strong social listening program is product development. If you're working with a software company, you can track the industry your clients are operating in so you can build features, content, and strategy around what's actually happening in real time. Depending on the tool you're using, those conversations update almost instantly. You can also build out weekly and quarterly reports to fold that intelligence into your broader strategy.
