How do you personalize interactive story recaps for 200+ million users without bloating app size or drowning engineers in code? 🧑💻
When Spotify built Wrapped in 2025, heavy video exports couldn't adapt to live user data or text localization, and hand coding complex canvas math for every frame wasn't feasible.
So they built the motion layer with Rive.
Designers created the visual system in Rive. Engineers simply plugged in the runtime asset and fed real-time user data to drive the visuals.
The result? Over 300M engaged users (+20%) and 630M social shares (+42%). Marked the highest single day of subscriber intake in Spotify history. 🎧
With Rive I can create a year wrap experience for your users to make them feel part of the app’s family.
As 2026 draws to a close, I'm excited to see how teams push real-time, data-driven Rive motion even further for this year's Wrapped experiences.
Maybe we’ll see some local apps do it in 2026. So excited to see that!
You can see Rive’s blog about it here: https://rive.app/blog/spotify-used-rive-for-spotify-wrapped-2025

Here’s the storyline: most people complain of high prices of ride, so I offered indrive as the solution.
with indrive, book your ride and agree on a comfortable price with your driver.
So basically, the problem is high ride prices and the solution is Indrive.
Good motion design is meant to identify the problem and offer a solution.
Started the design with the storyboard made up of up to 7 scenes and animated it.
