There's a pattern worth watching in how AI actually gets used inside real businesses right now, not in the demos.
It's genuinely fast at drafting an email once you know what the email needs to say. It's fast at reformatting a funnel page once you know what the page needs to do. It's fast at generating twelve headline variants once you already know which headline direction is right.
Where it falls apart is earlier than that. It can't tell you which offer deserves the funnel in the first place. It can't tell you why last month's launch underperformed when the copy read fine and the page loaded fine. It can't sit with a business long enough to notice the thing nobody's said out loud yet. Technically it can, but you’re not really sure if it’s hallucinating or not, or the output itself is completely reliable.
Acceleration only helps once direction already exists. Without it, AI just makes you move faster in whatever direction you happened to guess.
If today's deep work is mostly execution, AI will save you real hours. If today's deep work is actually a direction question dressed up as a task, no AI touches that part. That one's still yours.
