Google has quietly removed a feature that many advertisers relied on.
Starting this month, the manual language-targeting setting is no longer available for Search campaigns.
Ads will now automatically match based on the language of your ad copy, rather than a setting you control.
This change also affects Performance Max campaigns, specifically for the Search Network portion.
If you're running multilingual campaigns or targeting specific language segments in a mixed-language market, this will change how your budget is allocated without you having to adjust any settings.
Most accounts will not receive an alert about this change; instead, they will notice a shift in performance without understanding why.
If you manage Google Ads for a business or run your own campaigns, check your language settings this week before the change fully takes effect.
Is anyone else keeping an eye on this?
