Latin tradition, reimagined.

Love, Coco brings Latin-inspired desserts to the Canadian market through a contemporary visual identity.

The challenge was to build a brand that communicated the quality of its ingredients and its Latin roots without relying on familiar visual clichés. Instead of recreating a traditional aesthetic, the identity needed to feel current and distinctive for a Canadian audience.

The process began by analyzing the visual codes commonly used by dessert and Latin food brands, identifying what to keep and what to avoid. This research informed a visual system built around contrasting typography, a vibrant yet refined color palette, and compositions inspired by classical still lifes.

These design decisions place the fruits at the center of the identity, highlighting the quality and origin of the ingredients while giving the brand a distinctive visual language.

That peach and melon color story feels specific to the brand's actual story, doesn't read like generic tropical at all. What was the trickiest part of translating Latin visual cues without falling back on the usual cliches?

HUMAN BY DESIGN ENTRY My project entry for the Envato × Contra Human by Design challenge.

Proud to share a short film that traces creation back to its roots, a reminder that behind every work of true value, there is always a human hand and a human eye. It takes 50 seconds to watch, so I would appreciate your input on it! My main field is brand identity and logo design, so a video piece was outside my usual lane. But I'm into motion design too, so I went for it, partly to learn After Effects a bit more. That was kind of the point, honestly: step outside what I know and see how far Envato's toolkit could really go.

I built the whole thing around the words "Human by Design," with one goal in mind, to hit emotionally, not just technically. It started with a script and an idea I brainstormed myself. The most crucial step in storytelling is simply having a plan.

From there it was a lot of experimenting, prompting, failing, and refining. That meant working on the actual frames, Photoshopping initial frames for video prompts, and modulating the narrator's voice to match the tone and story of the piece. It also meant assembling and matching all the environmental sounds generated with SoundGen, then giving everything its final touch and render in After Effects. AI can give us endless possibilities, but someone still has to come up with the idea and decide where to take it.
