When a visitor lands on your homepage, they shouldn’t have to work out what your brand offers, who your products are for, or where they should go next.
A well-structured homepage can make the customer journey easier by presenting the right information, navigation, products, and calls to action in a logical way.

Daily Dons: Shopify Store Design & Build (Horizon Theme)
Daily Dons sells adaptive dressing shorts designed for caregivers and people with limited mobility, built around a clear pain point: getting dressed shouldn't require two people and a bad back. I built this store on Shopify's Horizon theme, section by section, focused on turning a genuinely emotional, high-stakes problem into a clear, trustworthy buying decision.
Key focus areas:
Problem-first storytelling — "Some mornings shouldn't take two people and a bad back" opens with the pain point before any product shot, backed by real caregiver stats (63M family caregivers, 55% now doing nursing-level tasks at home)
Clinical credibility — "Designed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy, not a marketer" and a founder story section, positioning trust as the core differentiator in a sensitive category
Bundle-first pricing — 1/2/3-pair tiers with per-pair pricing and a "Best Value" badge steering shoppers toward the highest-AOV option
Risk reversal — 30-day money-back guarantee repeated in the top bar, PDP, and trust badges to lower the barrier for a first-time, unfamiliar product
Simple "how it works" — a 3-step visual (Roll and slide → Close and done) demystifying the product's core innovation (dressing while flat in bed)
Verified testimonials — short, specific caregiver quotes placed directly next to the Add to Cart button to reduce last-second hesitation
Built as a fully editable Shopify theme — pricing, testimonials, and step content are all pulled from section/block settings and product/variant data, not hardcoded, so the client can update everything without touching code.
Building a brand-first Shopify store: Shoprecoverly
Here's how I approached building Shop recoverly a Dropshipping store brand.
Starting with positioning, not templates
Most stores in this category default to a clinical, "medical supply" look white backgrounds, blue accents, generic product shots. I wanted Shoprecoverly to feel like a self-care brand people are proud to buy from, not just a functional product page.
Design decisions:
Typography: paired Cormorant Garamond with Jost — a serif/sans combo that gives it an editorial, elevated feel instead of the usual ecommerce default
Palette: ivory and bronze instead of the typical white/blue pharmacy tones
Custom homepage layout designed around the brand story, not just a product grid
Logo design built to match the overall aesthetic
Where it stands
Homepage is live, with product photography and variant setup currently being refined as we prepare the store for traffic.
This is the part of the job I enjoy most — taking a category that usually looks the same everywhere and giving it an identity people actually connect with.
