Science websites can have a pulse.
A look at Hypesound by Bright Studios. Ocean textures, oversized type, and room for the science to breathe.
The natural world gives the site its character. The typography gives it structure.
The ocean texture doing double duty as backdrop and pacing device is a smart move. Most "science can be fun" sites lean hard on illustration and end up busy. This one actually breathes.
