I built Varelo into a small agency. A team of 4.
I thought that was the goal. It sounds good when you say it out loud. "I run a team." "I have people working for me." For a while I believed that was the version of this business I actually wanted.
Then I looked at the last few months and noticed something. I had barely designed anything myself. The team did the design work. I did project management, client calls, keeping things moving. All useful, none of it the reason I started this in the first place.
So I sat with that for a while and got honest with myself. What I actually love is sitting with a client, understanding their vision, and turning that into something real. A website, a brand, a feeling. That process is the entire reason I got into this. Not managing a team. Not scaling headcount. The making.
So I am going back to that. Varelo is becoming a freelance studio again, me doing the design work directly with clients, not handing it off and checking in later.

I really respect this decision. There's a lot of pressure to grow into an agency, but success looks different for everyone. Choosing the work that gives you the most fulfillment, and letting clients work directly with the designer, can create a much stronger experience. Wishing you all the best with this new chapter!

The Future in Black was built for Joy Fennell to hold a story that needed more than a standard portfolio site. Our goal from the start was to make the site feel archival and alive at once, part digital exhibit, part living brand presence, so every design decision was made to support that feeling rather than just present information.
We started with structure: how should a visitor move through this content, and what pace should that movement have? That question shaped our use of Finish Layer's block animations. Text reveals on scroll, so the story unfolds in beats instead of arriving all at once, closer to reading a book than scrolling a website. Images use hover interactions to invite a second look without pulling focus from the words around them.
From there we layered in movement. Shapes transform and shift position as the visitor scrolls, adding depth and a sense of motion that a static layout couldn't carry. This was the piece that took the most iteration, getting the timing and scale of these transforms to feel intentional rather than gimmicky meant testing several versions before landing on the current pacing.
Typography carried a lot of the brand's identity, so we uploaded Million and Inter Tight rather than relying on Squarespace's native font library. Million gives the site its editorial voice in headlines, and Inter Tight keeps body copy clean and legible against it.
The result is a site built on Squarespace's foundation, using Finish Layer's native tools alongside custom CSS and JS, pushed toward something that reads as custom, editorial, and specific to one person's story rather than a repeatable formula.

🙌 Introducing Vyomaverse. 🚀
Vyomaverse is my own creative agency and design studio, built around the idea of creating brands and digital experiences without limits. From branding and UI/UX to websites and creative direction, this is the space where all my ideas come together.
This project was created as my submission for the Envato × Contra – Human by Design Challenge, combining sketching, AI-assisted exploration, and human creativity to build a complete brand identity.
The website is already live, but it's still a work in progress. I've just completed the hero section, and there's a lot more to build in the coming weeks.
