This story was inspired by a tale my grandmother used to tell me when I was a child. Back then, I believed it was simply a story about friendship. Years later, I realized it carried a much deeper lesson.
We often hear that friendship is one of life's greatest treasures. The right friend can stand beside us through our darkest days, help us grow, and make the journey meaningful.
But friendship is not just about giving.
It is also about choosing wisely.
This film follows a lonely old man who discovers an egg and decides to care for it. He protects it, feeds it, raises it, and treats it as family. As time passes, the creature inside grows into a dinosaur, and so does its hunger.
The old man continues to nurture it, believing love alone is enough.
Until one day, the dinosaur reveals its true nature.
What follows is not just a twist.
It is a reminder that not every relationship grows into something beautiful simply because we invest our time, energy, and heart into it.
Some connections nourish us.
Some consume us.
The lesson isn't to stop being kind. The lesson is to understand who deserves your kindness.
Because the value of a good friend is immeasurable.
And the cost of the wrong one can be everything.
I built this entirely with @Renoise and it helped me create such a brilliant entry.

Memory Bank is a private family app designed to capture the small moments that usually get lost.
We take thousands of photos every year, but the little things often disappear: a note before a test, a flower picked on the way home from school, a funny photo of the family cat, or a simple “good luck” message from a parent.
Memory Bank gives families a shared space where they can add photos, notes, and emojis throughout the day. These contributions form a collaborative daily memory that lives on the home screen as a widget.
At midnight, the day’s memory is automatically captured as a Polaroid and saved to a family archive. Over time, families build a collection of memories together, one day at a time.
For this project, I wanted to experiment with a different design workflow.
Instead of starting in Figma, I used Codex and the Build-iOS-App workflow to generate a working Swift prototype first. My goal was to validate the interaction and product flow before investing time in visual design.
Once the concept felt promising, I used Figma MCP to bring the app screens into Figma, where I explored different visual directions, refined the user experience, and iterated on the overall concept.
I then used Figma Make to prototype key interactions and validate the experience before bringing those improvements back into the app.
Finally, I created the launch trailer and supporting assets using Hyperframes, Codex, and Figma MCP, allowing me to iterate on both the visual design and the story as the concept evolved.
The result was a workflow that felt much more fluid than the traditional path of Idea → Design → Prototype → Build.
Instead, the project evolved through a continuous loop of Idea → Prototype → Figma → Prototype → Launch.
Memory Bank started as a Makeathon experiment, but quickly became something I genuinely want to build for my own family.

'Budding' teaches kids storytelling. They author fun little storybooks, thanks to guidance specific to their unique stories.
Testing has been so fun! ☺️ Budding draws their quirky stories into pictures that kids can't wait to see. It even narrates their books out loud in goofy voices 🙃
Besides fun, I've noticed kids articulate so much better with Budding. They polish thoughts, grapple with figments, and even work through emotions to bring a better story to life. More than other activities, I see kids ponder and push for finer ideas. I'm delighted to see this develop their creative muscle so uniquely 🫶

Novel use: a unique processes needed for this project was the bulk generation of helpful yet consistent helper images. Each storytelling topic needed coherent ideas and guidance for the little authors. With almost 50 topics, this can quickly become very messy. Thanks to Figma Weave’s 'text iterators', I was able to do this right, and super clean! - I'll post a video for that here as well.
