The problem with most creatives thinking Ai will replace them is that they see Ai as an alternative to creative work not as a tool to enhance output. The reaity: AI can only make good work great. People who never had it in them are the ones making Ai slop today. Ai should be seen as a tool to boost prductivity and output not as a replacement for human thought process.

Most people says ‘AI is going to take your JOBS’ which I find ‘NOT TRUE’. Instead, I will use AI as a leverage for efficiency. Almost everything you do on your editing software is controlled and done with AI.

✅ Noise remover - AI

✅ video/image enhancer - AI

✅ schedule planner or Notion - AI

And ETC!

BUT what’s wrong is when you depend FULLY on AI to do the job. Even when that AI tool is unavailable you can still get that JOB done, and the results remain consistent and clean.

This photo I enhanced for a friend I wasn't depending on AI to get it done for me. Because the AI tool I had available at that moment wasn't giving me the results I wanted so I had to used my skills to get the job done.

Curious what distillation looks like in practice for you all, are you talking model distillation for smaller/cheaper inference, or something more workflow-specific? The linked piece title has me intrigued.
