The relationship between an artisan and a service user is often built around conversation, negotiation, and quotation. I wanted that familiar process to remain central to Workforce.
When a service user reaches out to an artisan, the conversation happens directly through the in-app chat, keeping discussions, negotiations, project details, and updates in one place from the initial request all the way to fulfillment.
The quotation flow was also designed to reflect how projects are actually priced. Artisans can clearly separate material costs from labour fees, giving both parties a transparent breakdown of the project cost.
More importantly, separating these costs supports the payment flow when materials need to be purchased upfront, allowing the artisan to receive the necessary payment to get the project started while the rest is held in escrow until fulfillment.
