Shopify Scripts Are Retired: What Shopify Plus Merchants Need to Know in 2026
If you run a Shopify Plus store, there's something worth checking.
Shopify Scripts officially reached end of life on June 30, 2026. If your store was using Scripts for custom discounts, shipping rules, or payment customizations and they haven't been migrated, those customizations no longer run.
The tricky part is that customers won't see an error message. They'll simply stop receiving the discount or checkout behavior they expected, which can affect conversions and revenue if it goes unnoticed.
Here's what to check:
→ Custom discount logic built with Shopify Scripts
→ Shipping rules powered by Scripts
→ Payment method customizations using Scripts
If you're still relying on Scripts, migrate them to Shopify Functions, which is Shopify's supported replacement.
Not sure whether your store was using Scripts? It's worth reviewing your checkout customizations to make sure everything is working as expected.

I had so much fun bringing the dreamiest girly, minimal matcha brand, Mind & Leaf, to life from the website design and social media graphics to the creative direction for the photography.
It was such a fun and cute project to build, but seeing the brand sell out upon launch made it even sweeter. That’s when you know the vision worked.
