If you're just getting started with Claude Code, this is probably the most useful thing I can tell you.
There's a file you can create called a CLAUDE.md. It sits in your project folder or even in the root of your computer. Claude reads it at first.
You can create this file by running /init in your Claude session. Claude will read your project files and generate a markdown file, a summary of your repo, tech stack, how to run and test things, and technical specifics.
Here's the thing: I've seen a lot of people either skip the file entirely, leave it as the generic output, or make it too complex. What improved my sessions and stopped my AI from spinning its wheels was learning to optimize it.
A CLAUDE.md file is only as good as what you put in it.
The more specific, boring, and concise it is, the better Claude performs.

This is the first version of my new portfolio, created entirely with Claude Code. However, it’s not just any AI-generated portfolio. Built Trace App, a new way to capture memories as designed experiences.
Using Mobbin, I studied how top apps structure content, emotion, and interaction. Patterns like cards, modular flows, and lightweight creation tools shaped the foundation of this concept.
Trace turns moments into Polaroid-style cards.
You can add a photo, apply filters, write text, and even attach audio.
Each memory becomes a small, expressive story, saved as a video you can actually revisit.

I fed Google Stitch one prompt. No code. No Figma.
Full dark UI. Filterable gallery. Cyber-brutalist system.
Mobile-responsive. Figma export. One shot.
~70% of my vision. But the soul wasn't there.
I had to push it:
→ "More chaotic"
→ "Denser. Less whitespace."
→ "Typography more system-like."
Iteration requires taste.
Taste isn't in the prompt.
Stitch is a validated idea machine.
The Figma export alone is worth it for MVPs.
But the freelancers who win?
The ones who know exactly what to ask and why.
The prompt is the brief. Write it like one.
