Update day#2 on ReplitBuildathon. working on Synapse, and these are the moments where my synapses stopped working😂 : -free API setup for Google AI studio lead me to a full month of burned Replit API credits: Roughly 10 back-and-forth messages into debugging, I learned the hard way that configuring Gemini's API can burn through a full month of Replit's free Agent credits in under 48 hours, mid-build, no warning until it stopped. Couldn't top up, so I switched to hand-editing the code directly in the file tree instead of through Agent. Different skill, same result, arguably taught me the codebase better than letting Agent write it for me.
-parantheses will always trick you:
lost a full hour chasing a 502 error that turned out to be one missing closing parenthesis, three levels deep in a nested schema. The actual AI logic, the scoring, the extraction, was working the entire time. The bug was never in the idea. It was one character.
