Platform Strategy: Choosing Between Substack & Beehiiv for Scalable Audience Growth 🚀
A common mistake creators make is picking a newsletter platform based solely on popularity rather than their long-term business model.
When consulting with creators on platform architecture, I break the choice down into two core paths:
🔹 Substack (Network-First): Ideal for independent writers focused on pure writing, native community recommendations, and built-in paid subscriptions with zero platform setup friction.
🔹 Beehiiv (Infrastructure-First): Built for creators scaling a media brand who need custom web domain hosting, native referral engines, advanced subscriber segmentation, and flat-rate monetization control.
Aligning your technical setup with your actual business goals early prevents costly platform migrations down the road! 📈

Same SaaS homepage. Same headline. Two completely different first impressions.
A: Calm. One quiet visual, motion only when you hover.
B: Playful. Everything reacts to your cursor.
I design and build both styles for landing pages, and founders are split almost every time.
Which one would you ship for a SaaS that wants sign-ups, and why? Vote, then tell me in the comments.

Playful is better
Your email might have a great offer, but if people don't open it, they may never see it.
Here are 4 things I pay attention to when planning an email campaign:
→ Subject line: Give people a clear reason to open.
→ Relevance: Make sure the email fits the audience.
→ Timing: Consider when your subscribers are most likely to engage.
→ Consistency: Build a predictable email experience without overwhelming people.
And don't forget to test different subject lines and review your results.
Sometimes, small improvements can make a difference.
Don't just focus on what your email says. Think about what makes someone want to open it.
Well said. Testing and understanding your audience can make email campaigns much more effective.
