I almost ruined this one.
Just finished a concept site for a nature photography studio — Aetherial View. First draft had everything I usually reach for. Clever scroll animations. A secondary nav. Hover micro-interactions. A bit of texture behind the hero.
Looked great in Figma. Felt awful next to the actual photographs.
A heron at golden hour doesn't need help from a parallax effect. It just needs to not be interrupted.
So I started removing things. The animations. The second nav. The texture. Half the type styles. Until the site basically got out of the way.
What's left: three nav items. An asymmetric grid that gives each shot room. Serif only where it earns attention — pull quotes, section heads. Black background as a gallery wall.
The hardest part wasn't designing it. It was trusting that less would feel like enough.
For a portfolio site, that's usually the whole brief — even when nobody says it out loud.
This looks clean and well thought out. How long did it take you to bring everything together?
Title: Your data is not the problem. The structure is.
Most business owners I speak to are not short on data.
They have spreadsheets. Exports. Reports sent every month. Numbers sitting in three different files that nobody looks at after the first week.
The real problem is not missing data — it is data that cannot be read quickly enough to change a decision.
A 5,000 row export tells you nothing at a glance. But a single dashboard showing revenue by channel, top performing SKU, and pending payments — that changes how a founder spends the next hour.
I have seen this pattern across CA firms, D2C brands, and small businesses. The data exists. The structure does not.
Clean structure means:
One place for all numbers
Metrics linked to actual decisions
Flags that tell you when something needs attention — not just what the current state is
If your data lives in scattered sheets and nobody is acting on it, the issue is not the data. It is the system around it.
That is exactly what I fix.

Are mockup sites slowly becoming irrelevant?
With AI, you can generate or adapt almost any mockup in seconds. Feels like the whole workflow is shifting.
Do you still use mockup sites, or have you fully switched to AI?
I love using mockups sites that have specific collections that are part of the same photoshoot. They save me a lot of time, as visual mockups are still not perfect yet and we have to spend the time to make sure they are.
