I’ve started experimenting with Pinterest as an organic growth channel for Root Over Zero, and the early results are already getting interesting. Instead of treating Pinterest like a traditional social platform, I’m testing it as a visual search engine, creating multiple variations of UI designs, web tools, and useful content, then tracking which topics and visuals Pinterest actually distributes. Within a short time, some of the Pins have started picking up impressions, and now I’m focused on turning that reach into saves, outbound clicks, and eventually real website traffic.
What I find most interesting is that this doesn’t require constantly paying for reach. A good Pin can potentially keep getting discovered through search and recommendations long after it’s published. I’m still early in the experiment, but I’m trying to build a repeatable system rather than relying on one viral post.
I’ll share the numbers and what I learn as the experiment progresses.
Have you ever used Pinterest as a serious traffic channel for a business, or do you still see it mainly as a social platform?
