When Local AI Agents Meet ESP32: Creating My "Physical Avatar"
As a B-side Product Manager, I'm constantly exploring AI implementation beyond the traditional chatbox. My latest project features a seamless integration between OpenClaw and ESP32.
The Tech Stack: I deployed OpenClaw on my Mac Mini as the central "Brain" for logic decomposition and decision-making. On the hardware side, an ESP32 paired with an OLED screen serves as the "Physical Terminal," featuring a dynamic dashboard of my original character, "Nao-Nao Rabbit."
The Core Logic: By bypassing complex BLE handshakes and opting for a direct Wi-Fi REST API link, I've bridged the digital-physical divide. Now, OpenClaw can trigger real-time updates on the physical screen with a single curl command—whether it’s scrolling market trends, tracking build status, or sending sweet reminders to my daughter, Duo Duo.
This is more than just stacking code; it’s about giving an AI Agent true "tentacles." When that little rabbit on the screen twitches its ears in response to an AI command, the certainty of "connecting directly to the physical world" is the ultimate geek romance.
