Startups are making a serious mistake.
They invest heavily in building their product but barely invest in how they present it.
Your landing page is often the first impression a potential customer has of your business.
And in a market flooded with generic AI-generated websites, looking like everyone else is a problem.
When a website feels generic, lacks credibility, or fails to communicate its value, people have less reason to trust it.
Some won't even bother exploring the product. And that could be costing you conversions.
Design isn't just a cost.
It's an investment in how people perceive your product and whether they trust it enough to take action.
You don't necessarily need to hire a designer.
You can learn to do it yourself.
But whatever you choose, don't treat your landing page as an afterthought.
Building a great product matters.
Making people believe in it matters, too.

The part founders miss is that it’s not usually a budget decision. Product work feels like progress you can measure, design feels like taste you can’t, so it gets pushed. Worth adding that generic isn’t the only failure mode either. A beautiful page that still doesn’t say what the product does loses the same visitor.
