Cover image for How do you decide on
How do you decide on a hero slide? Yesterday I was preparing my DesiginStudio submission and couldn't decide on a hero image out of the 10+ images that were created. Decided to go with the drone shot as it makes more sense for the beginning of a story. But would the train also have made sense? Curious

The following is my submission of CapCut as a logistics powerhouse. Chose Direction A: CapCut as a Different Industry Title: CapCut Logistics If CapCut’s fundamental value proposition is moving, cutting, and rendering digital media with frictionless speed, this concept extends that exact premise into the physical realm. The logistics network moves people and cargo with the same rapid, seamless efficiency as exporting a short-form video. In this world, physical distance is treated simply as an "editable" timeline, optimized for the fastest possible rendering of travel and delivery. Embracing a "human-centric tech" philosophy, the design avoids overwhelming sensory clutter. It scales the iconic CapCut logo directly into the mega-station’s footprint and cleverly translates functional software components—like timelines, split lines, and keyframes—into intuitive wayfinding and environmental design elements. The aesthetic is anchored by a sophisticated, controlled color palette that pairs CapCut’s signature Teal with expansive light-grey concrete and cool blue glass. The interiors prioritize clean, vector-inspired monoline structural accents, featuring dramatic crossing escalators that mimic the logo's central 'X', alongside subtle geometric motifs integrated into the tiling and interactive digital displays. The process followed an exploration of different prompts accessible here https://www.capcut.com/ai-design?shareId=7647468196043194375 Created by: Andrew Ater Shared on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/andrew-ater-0b78ba9b_a-mockup-of-capcut-as-a-logistics-powerhouse-activity-7468280631987277825-1ze9?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAABVQDwsB6cEWF_p2TmnJEa_tal6GHqwS4GU

GenDesigner Play is an interactive web app equipping the next generation of designers. The app aims to transform the principles of visual design into cause-and-effect puzzles that children from 3 yrs+ can engage with. Instead of reading about theory, kids can learn by doing—feeling the weight, structure, and balance of digital elements in real-time. Google Stitch has been used in the initial exploration of the dashboard and landing page. We started off with the design.md (https://design.md) import as well as a brief react prototype code base. This was then used to come up with the dashboard exploration as well as a Contrast game and journey map. A background animation was explored using building blocks as animated design elements. Then a landing page was explored and iterated on, finally being exported to Netlify through the new preview feature to see what it would look like on different devices. Generally Google Stitch use was great for the exploration and initial development, still looking to refine a lot more and continue iterating before live testing. The ease of deployment via netlify intergration was particularly lovely. The current design is https://stitch.withgoogle.com/projects/8129524678062519122 With the exported landing page on https://9c12dd6c-gendesigner-design-system.netlify.app/
