Tiny Ties is a lightweight bracelet maker inspired by friendship bracelets, online communities, and the nostalgic creativity found in many early 2000s virtual worlds and social games. The goal was to create a playful experience that encourages self-expression through a simple and approachable interface. Built entirely with Figma's ecosystem, the application allows users to create a custom 2D friendship bracelet using a collection of pre-built charms and decorative elements. Users can freely arrange charms, resize the bracelet by stretching or shrinking it, and experiment with different combinations to create unique designs. To make the experience more personal, Tiny Ties also supports custom charm uploads, enabling users to incorporate their own artwork and imagery into their creations. A core focus of the project is sharing and collaboration. Once a bracelet is finished, users can download it as an image or generate a shareable code. Anyone with the code can reopen the bracelet and continue editing it, making the creation process feel more communal and interactive. This feature was inspired by the way friendship bracelets themselves are often shared, exchanged, and personalized between friends. Rather than functioning as a complex design platform, Tiny Ties embraces simplicity. The experience is intentionally lightweight, requiring no accounts, registrations, or lengthy setup processes. Users can immediately begin creating, experimenting, and sharing without barriers. This design decision reinforces the project's central theme: creativity should be accessible, fun, and easy to share.
