I built Eqo - a sustainable lifestyle platform that helps turn everyday choices into measurable climate impact Check it out here - https://affix-sand-94210327.figma.site (https://affix-sand-94210327.figma.site) @figma (https://x.com/figma) @contra (https://x.com/contra) Climate change often feels like a problem too large for individuals to meaningfully impact. Most people want to live more sustainably, but lack the tools, visibility, and guidance to turn intention into consistent action. Eqo was designed to bridge that gap transforming sustainability from an abstract goal into a daily, trackable, and community-driven lifestyle. Eqo is a sustainable lifestyle platform that empowers users to understand, reduce, and actively engage with their environmental impact. It brings together three core experiences: a carbon footprint calculator, eco-friendly product recommendations, and a community forum that connects users through shared climate-conscious goals. The Problem - Sustainability today is fragmented. Users may recycle, buy eco-friendly products, or try to reduce consumption—but they rarely see the bigger picture of their environmental footprint. There is no unified space that: Helps users understand their impact in real time Guides them toward better choices in context Builds long-term accountability through community Without feedback loops or guidance, sustainable intentions often fade into inconsistency. The Solution: Eqo Eqo turns sustainability into an interactive system rather than a passive concept. At its core is a carbon footprint calculator that helps users track their impact across everyday categories like travel, food, energy use, and consumption. Instead of presenting overwhelming data, Eqo translates impact into clear, actionable insights. Based on user behavior, Eqo then provides eco-friendly product recommendations helping users replace high-impact choices with sustainable alternatives that are actually accessible and practical. To reinforce long-term change, Eqo includes a community forum, where users can share progress, tips, challenges, and milestones. Sustainability becomes social not isolating. Design Approach & Figma Workflow Eqo was designed using Figma’s ecosystem, leveraging rapid iteration and AI-assisted workflows to move from concept to prototype efficiently. Using Figma Make, I translated early design concepts into functional screens, focusing on: Clean, minimal UI to reduce cognitive overload Data visualization for carbon tracking clarity Modular components for scalability across features Accessibility-first design decisions for inclusive use The design system was built to feel calm and grounded, reflecting the tone of sustainability natural colors, soft contrast, and intuitive navigation patterns. Figma’s iterative environment allowed me to quickly test: Dashboard layouts for footprint tracking Recommendation flows based on user behavior Community engagement structures Impact Eqo is designed to shift sustainability from awareness to action. Instead of asking users to radically change their lifestyle overnight, it: Breaks down impact into understandable insights Provides realistic, personalized alternatives Reinforces change through community support The goal is not perfection it’s progress. Small, consistent decisions that compound into meaningful environmental impact over time. What Makes Eqo Different Most sustainability tools focus either on education or tracking. Eqo combines: Measurement (carbon tracking) Action (product recommendations) Engagement (community support) This creates a full behavioral loop that supports real lifestyle change rather than short-term awareness. Building with Figma This project was built using Figma’s evolving suite of tools, exploring how design can move closer to production. By using AI-assisted design workflows and rapid prototyping, Eqo demonstrates how sustainability-focused products can be built faster, tested earlier, and iterated more meaningfully. The process emphasized experimentation using Figma not just as a design tool, but as a system for thinking, building, and refining ideas in real time. Eqo is more than a product it’s a small attempt at making sustainable living feel achievable, connected, and actionable. Because real change doesn’t come from pressure. It comes from clarity, consistency, and community. #ConfigMakeathon (https://x.com/hashtag/ConfigMakeathon?src=hashtag_click) #Figma (https://x.com/hashtag/Figma?src=hashtag_click) #UXDesign (https://x.com/hashtag/UXDesign?src=hashtag_click) #ProductDesign (https://x.com/hashtag/ProductDesign?src=hashtag_click) #Sustainability (https://x.com/hashtag/Sustainability?src=hashtag_click) #DesignThinking (https://x.com/hashtag/DesignThinking?src=hashtag_click) #canva (https://x.com/hashtag/canva?src=hashtag_click)
