Most agencies hand you a CMS. Then you pay the licence, fight its templates, and the site gets slower every year.
I build the site properly instead. Hand-written Next.js, no CMS layer, no plugin tax. Content lives in the repo as structured files.
Then I wire up how you edit it. Your team connects their own Claude with a skill I set up for your project, describes the change in plain language, and it ships. Prefer the terminal? Same thing from the command line. Either way the change goes through a pull request, so nothing goes live by accident.
What that buys you. No monthly CMS licence. No plugin security updates at 11pm. And pages that stay fast, because there is no CMS runtime left to slow them down.
From a recent build for a technical-wear brand: first paint went from 3.6s to 0.5s, accessibility from 85 to 97 out of 100, a 590-store locator, multilingual routing in five languages, and a full 301 migration with the SEO intact.
Stack. Next.js 15, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind v4, Vercel with Blob and Neon Postgres, Auth.js.
You get the deployed site, the repo, and the Claude setup, so you are never blocked waiting on me to change a paragraph.
