Process

You book a call with me and tell me a bit about your work and which novel(s) you would like to have translated.
You decide on a 30-minute or 60-minute video call
We will meet and go through all your questions. I will offer advice based on my own experience as a translator (10+ years).
You will receive a session summary as well as a step by step outline of what to do next in order to secure the best possible translator for your work.

  • For which type of texts is this consultation suitable?

    In this consultation, we will primarily discuss literary translations, especially for indie authors. This is based on my experience and expertise as an English to German translator. Of course, some aspects are valid for all types of translations.

  • What do I need to bring or prepare for the consultation?

    Tell me about yourself and your project: What type of text do you want to have translated? What's the size? What's your niche, what's your readership like? Do you have any deadlines in mind for the project? Do you have experience with translations? ... and anything else you want to know!

  • What will I take away from the consultation?

    In basic terms, you will receive a meeting summary, which outlines all relevant info and the necessary steps for you to take. Should you want to work with me for a translation, you will also receive a time and cost estimate, as well as a basic project outline.

  • Will I have to book a gig with you after the consultation?

    Absolutely not. Although it'd be a great outcome if we agree on I project, I do not expect you to book a follow-up service. Apart from that, as an English to German translator, I may not even be what you're looking for.
