Summary

The goal of this project is help you elevate your brand, with a visual identity that can stand the test of time and differentiate you from your competitors. It’s not enough to make a logo and call it a day — you need a designer who can think through your brand image and express it with branding (a logotype, brand colors and brand fonts) that tell your singular story, setting you up for success. A logotype is a typography-driven logo of your brand name (example: most clothing brands)... see FAQ for more on logos.

Process

You will provide as much information as possible about your brand, your likes/dislikes about your current brand logo and materials, what differentiates your brand from your competitors, etc.
Discovery Call — Branding
We will discuss your brand goals (short-term and long-term), target customer/audience, style preferences and basic brand strategy. This will also be an opportunity to review any reference materials and handoff any existing relevant assets. Meetings will be remote.
Concept Development
Using the information gathered in the discovery phase I will create two to three rough directions for the logo. The logo directions will be likely be presented in black and white.
Concept / Direction Presentation
We will review up to three logo directions. The goal of this presentation will be to decide on one direction and gather feedback for the first revision of design.
Design: Revision 1
Refine chosen logotype and present 2 options for primary brand colors and font choices that work with logo.
Design Presentation of Revision 1
We will review the logotype, primary brand colors, and font choices. The goal of this presentation will be to gather feedback for design Revision 2.
Design: Revision 2
Using the feedback from Revision 1, the logotype, colors, and fonts will be refined and finalized.
Approval and Final Delivery
I will apply your final agreed-upon feedback to all deliverables and deliver all final files.

  • What's a logotype?

    A logotype is a typography-driven logo of your brand name (example: most clothing brands). A logomark, conversely, is a symbol or design that is sometimes used in conjunction with a logotype and sometimes alone (example: Nike swoosh). The logotype can use other non-typographic elements but is type-driven.

  • Why do I need brand colors and fonts?
