Process

1. Import & Organize Footage

Transfer Files: Import all video clips, audio recordings, and any other media into your editing software.

2. Rough Cut

Select the Best Clips: Choose the best takes and trim them down to remove unnecessary parts.

Create a Timeline: Arrange clips in order according to the script or storyboard to form the basic structure of the video.

Add Placeholders: If necessary, insert placeholders for missing elements like graphics, music, or sound effects.

3. Fine Cut

Polish Edits: Refine cuts between scenes, tightening transitions and trimming further for flow.

Add Transitions: Introduce fades, wipes, or cuts to move smoothly between scenes if necessary.

Match Action & Pacing: Ensure the visuals match the pacing and flow of the story or message.

4. Audio Editing

Clean Up Sound: Remove background noise, adjust levels, and ensure dialogue or voiceover is clear.

Add Sound Effects: Insert sound effects to enhance action or emotion.

Sync Music: Place background music or score, ensuring it matches the mood and timing of the video.

Mix & Balance: Adjust the volume levels of dialogue, music, and sound effects so they are balanced.

5. Color Correction & Grading

Basic Color Correction: Adjust exposure, contrast, and white balance to ensure consistent lighting across all shots.

Color Grading: Apply color grading to achieve a specific tone or mood for the video, using tints or specific color palettes.

6. Graphics & Visual Effects

Add Titles & Text: Insert any required text, such as lower-thirds, titles, and credits.

Insert Visual Effects: Apply any motion graphics, animations, or other visual effects needed for the project.

Keying (Optional): If using green screen, replace backgrounds or composite scenes.

7. Final Review

Watch the Full Video: Review the entire video for any errors or inconsistencies in pacing, cuts, or visuals.

Client Feedback: If applicable, send the draft to the client for feedback and make any necessary revisions.

8. Export
