About this service

Summary

What's a content strategy, and why do you need one?
Organic growth doesn't happen without a content strategy. With an SEO-focused content strategy, you can guarantee organic growth and attract visitors who impact your bottom line.
When investing in content and SEO, you have two options:
1/ Spray and pray - Publish content without much of a plan. Pick your topics based on the CEO or HiPPO, not research. And then decide SEO "doesn't work for you" and leave a profitable, low-cost channel on the table.
2/ Analyze and plan - Study the data and make it work for you. Create a strategy to get your content in front of the people who want your product or service. Grow your business with predictable numbers in perpetuity without spending tens of thousands on ads every month to hit last month's numbers.
I'd pick the second option any day.
Why are I qualified to provide this service?
This is the strategy I used to grow Cube's traffic from under 800 visits/month to over 30,000 in less than 2 years.
(And it had a huge impact on revenue—40% of Cube's pipeline came from organic search.)
At Cube, we noticed pipeline numbers weren't where they needed to be, so I researched keywords, saw an opportunity to create content around keywords that the data suggested would attract buyers, and then we executed that plan.
The results speak for themselves.
What does working with you look like?
Timeline: 2 weeks (from our kickoff call)
Choosing keywords to write about is both an art and a science, but we can look at the data to make smart, impactful choices.
To do that, I need to know about you and what the business goals are.
Step 1: We begin with a hour-long kickoff call. During this time, I'll ask you questions about your business, who you sell to, your competitors, and the kinds of topics you want to cover. I'll get clear on your business goals and current strengths.
Outcome: We'll make a content theme document on the call together.
Step 2: I'll spend the next few days on keyword research and give you my recommendations assuming you're publishing 2-3 times per week.
Outcome: You receive my keyword recommendations based on the data.
Step 3: Once you approve those keywords (as they're relevant to who you sell to and the problem you solve), I'll spend the next week writing briefs for each keyword in Google Docs and building your suggested calendar in a Google Sheet.
Outcome: You receive a Google Drive folder containing the keyword research, the 26-39 briefs, and the suggested publishing calendar.
If you need help finding writers for these posts, I'm happy to help if I have availability.

What's included

  • A content calendar for the next 3 months so you can plan ahead

Based on keyword research data and conversations with you about your business and what you're after, I'll give you a list of keywords you should write about and a publishing cadence for them. These keywords and topics will be aligned to whatever goal we establish during our hour-long kickoff call.

  • Keyword research recommendations to keep your nimble and resilient

If you need to change something in the plan, no worries—all the keyword research I do for you is included.

  • Content briefs for every post for a smooth handoff to your writers

Assuming you publish new content 2-3 times per week, you'll get 26-39 briefs for each keyword in your content calendar. This includes word count, headlines, and a high-level outline of what to include in the article. Perfect for handing off to a freelancer of an in-house writer.
