My design process transcends mere aesthetics; it delves into the very essence of your brand, encapsulating its look, feel, and tone in every aspect of the packaging.
Through meticulous research and strategic planning, I collaborate closely with you to breathe life into your brand's narrative, creating packaging that not only catches the eye but also resonates with your target audience on a profound level.
Process
⁃ I asks for as much detail around you and your vision as possible. The foundation of my process is a good brief and clear expectation on the deliverables. I have a brief with a few questions that assists me greatly to understand as much about the company or products I am designing for. I have a short brief that I can send. As soon as there is print process and substrate information available is it good to know from the start. Designing with the technical aspect in mind ensure you get the best possible consistent output at commercial print production.
⁃ I then process the data, brainstorm and sketch. I digitize the strongest design routes and present that back to you. These concepts are then presented to you with a short explanation on the thinking and symbolism behind each route. I also look at typography and colour palettes. These also gets presented with 3D Renders in “real life” kind of situation. I present 2-3 outlines of a master design route to establish a favourable route to progress with.
⁃ From these you choose the route you most resonate with. With you feedback I craft this until you are 100% happy. If it so happens that there is none of the options that stand our for you in the first round will I take your feedback and work on another route.
⁃ This design is then the flagship used to develop flavours and variants.
⁃ Depending on info avaialbity the design can be locked first while info is prepared or can be incorporated on the design during the variant extension phase.
⁃ Artwork is then prepared and approved.
⁃ I prepare the print ready files for the commercial print supplier based on their printer specs and capabilities (i keep the print process in mind from the initial concepts design to ensure the best possible output on commercial print production)
