About this service

Summary

Crafting a realistic character is complex, involving numerous steps, and can often be a daunting task, but rest assured, I've got you covered.
Whether you're a game developer in need of a character or a hobbyist who enjoys creating cinematics for fun, I will provide you with what you need.
Utilizing modern tools like Blender and Substance 3D Painter, I will craft realistic characters for you.

Process

The initial phase of my workflow involves launching PureRef to collect as many references as needed.
I initiate the process in Blender, by shaping the character's basic form. For characters with clothing, Marvelous Designer is my choice. With sci-fi characters, I start with the arms and legs since mirroring them offers a glimpse of the overall design. During this high-poly stage, the polycount is not my focus.
Next, I move on to the torso, connecting the arms and legs, and finally create the head. Afterward, I recreate a low-poly, quad topology model ready for rigging. I then create the UVs for the character, using UDIMs or multiple materials depending on the end goal.
For texturing, I use Substance 3D Painter or Marmoset Toolbag to bake the high-poly details into the low-poly model and start texturing the asset. Finally, I create and weight paint the armature for the character.
