I will thoroughly edit your short story or novel, up to 120,000 words in length! This service is designed for any type of manuscript, from a first draft to something more polished. If your manuscript has been edited and you only need a proofreader, I have a different service for that on my profile. If you need more extensive feedback, I can work with you.
I will provide you with feedback on the following:
Character - are your characters consistent? Does each character have an individual voice? Do they add something to the story?
Story - Does your piece have a story? Do the characters have internal conflicts? Will the reader care about your characters and what's happening in the story?
Plot - YES. Your plot is separate from your story. The story is the most important part--it's what makes us (the readers) care about your characters--but is the plot working? This is the broader content of your piece.
Grammar and punctuation - I will make sure your piece is clean and easy to read!
I will work in nearly any genre, but my specialties are fantasy (including urban, contemporary, dystopian, etc), romance, and young adult. I'm always happy to break out of my comfort zone though!

For both the line editing and developmental editing services, I will provide a document with comments for creative suggestions or areas where the writing may need to be improved. The format will be Microsoft Word, unless you need me to work in a different program.
Report
I will provide you with 1+ page(s) of typed feedback, depending on the length of your piece. In the report, I will cover what worked and what didn't in your story. For the line edit, the report will contain feedback on pacing, grammar, clarity, etc. For the developmental edit, I will include feedback for the same categories, but I will also include feedback on plot, story, and character.
